Chalukyan Heritage: Pattadkal

The Chalukyans having developed their unique architecture style at Badami and Aihole, perfected their craft here at Pattadkal. This was the place where the Chalukyan kings were coronated. It is a complex of splendidly crafted temples which are considered to be architecturally perfect.  Here one can witness both the Nagara and Dravidian style of temple architecture, with some of the temples constructed with mixture of both.

Chalukyan Heritage: Aihole

Aihole is the place where the Chalukyan practiced their architecture. There are hundreds of temples in Aihole , even today. The most notable amongst them is the Durga Temple- dedicated to the Sun God.

Kathakali

Kathakali is one of the oldest dance forms of India having its origins in the present day state of Kerala. A Kathakali performance involves complex hand gestures, precise facial-muscle movements and rigorous footwork. Normally a recital involves a dance drama out of stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata. Watching a Kathakali performance with the all the music and superbly dressed up artists makes up a really thrilling experience.
